My morning coffee

I LOVE my coffee time. I also love mornings. So together, this is one of the times of day I enjoy most.

Lately I’ve been enjoying my coffee at home instead of guzzling down my java on the bus on the way into work.

I committed to making delicious, high quality coffee every morning and I enjoy it outside if weather permits, or at least near a window where I can enjoy a sunrise.

My hubby travels quite a bit and always comes back with these awesome Starbucks mugs 🙂

Here’s how I make my coffee: 

  1. Grind beans and place in reusable keurig pod (so no, we don’t buy keurig pods for the house, we just refill the reusable one for each mug)
  2. Brew coffee
  3. Add 1 tsp of coconut oil (my hubby likes to use MCT oil)
  4. Add a splash of almond creamer (I like Silk Vanilla Almond)
  5. Emulsify using one of these and enjoy! :


I love the creamy taste the coconut oil gives, and it makes my coffee more of an experience rather than just a drink. There are lots of benefits to eating fat in the morning, and for me, eating good quality fats in the morning, like coconut oil make me feel sharp and alert and ready to go! So that’s why I do it!
