I think morning routines are important. It’s my favourite time of day (yes, I’m one of those morning people).
These days, my life allows me to have 2.5 hours before I need to head out the door and get to work.
This is what my morning looks like:
6:15: My alarm goes off. I get up and put on some clothes appropriate for working out and walking the dog.
6:25: I head out for a walk with the dog.
7:00: I get back from my walk, and workout for 10-30 minutes (depending on how I feel). This can be cardio, strength training, foam rolling, stretching or yoga.
7:30: I make breakfast and my coffee (with coconut oil of course)
8:00: I hop in the shower and get ready for work
8:30 I leave home and head for the bus stop!
This routine came about from trying many different things. And these are the things that stuck over time and make me feel the best before my work day.
I’d love to incorporate some meditation, but that part of the routine hasn’t stuck yet. I’ll continue to try a few things to see what I’ll enjoy as part of my routine.
I know this routine will change quite a bit over the next few months (since I have a little one on the way in March!) but for now, I’ll enjoy enjoying my hot coffee in peace each morning. (I hear that’s a tough thing to do with a newborn!)
