Recipe/Mom post: Baby’s green bean guacamole (and it ain’t bad on a cracker for mom and dad too!)

It’s tough to make baby food appetizing. Which is why the photo on this post is of my daughter eating it and smiling. Anywho… onwards to this post and recipe…

After coming back from a great trip out west, I had some odds and ends in the fridge to get rid of. My leftovers turned into quite the lunch success for my baby girl.

So here you have it! Green bean guacamole for baby (and I took a bite of it and thought it wasn’t half bad! I’d eat that on a chip!)

Green beans are great in many vitamins and minerals, including: vitamins A, C and folate as well as calcium, magnesium and phosophorus. A function of phosphorus is to form bones and teeth (and as you can see from the photo, my little gal has 2 little chompers already!) So get your green beans in folks!

I know that my baby won’t always be an adventurous eater (or maybe she will be, who knows!). I just take it day by day. Today she ate this. Tomorrow she may not. Being a parent is a fabulous exercise in being in the present.

Green bean guacamole


  • 1/4 avocado
  • 2-4 tablespoons of green bean puree
  • a pinch of cumin

How to: Mix it all together and serve at room temperature.

This recipe serves as a great dip too for older kids and those who are rocking some baby led weaning! So it’s pretty much good for everyone, at any age!
