Review: Piperwai natural deodorant

Hello folks! As you know, I’ve been on a natural deodorant adventure as of late. I found great success in transitioning using the Saje natural deodorant spray so far. But as summer rolls around and I pick up more active outdoor adventures (like running) I was beginning to see that I needed something a little stronger.

I was chatting about this with my friend, who shared that she uses Piperwai natural deodorant. She says that since she started to use it, she notices that she smells less and even sweats a bit less than she used to with regular deodorant.

I was intrigued. So off I went to well.ca to order some (note that well.ca has a partnership with Rexall pharmacy, so you can find it there too).

There were things right off the hop that I thought I wouldn’t like. Like, the fact that I need to put it on with my fingers and there is no applicator. Booooo. But I put that aside as the friend who suggested this is a no-nonsense type gal – and if this product won her over, that it surely could win me over too.

And it did! Here’s why.

  1. It’s strong. I only had to apply it once from the first day I used it and it held up really nicely on a longer run I did recently. Instant points from me there.
  2. It made me realize that armpits aren’t gross – they are just part of your body – so you shouldn’t be grossed out to touch them.
  3. It’ll last forever. It’s a cream you put on, and you only need a pea sized amount per pit. So even though it’s a small container, this will last me months.
  4. It seems to moisturize my underarms. It’s a paste so i feel like in a way it’s moisturizing and helping to further improve the texture and appearance of my previously raggedy underarm skin.

The only thing I don’t love about it is the actual smell itself. It’s a little earthy smelling – but I think years of having very strong and intense scents from lady speed stick and secret have conditioned me into thinking that I need to smell a certain way. No one can really smell it anyway – so it’s a bit of a moot point. And another small sadness for me is that isn’t not Canadian 🙁

Here’s what it looks like inside. It’s a thick paste you apply with your fingers.

So that’s all folks! Another product that I’m enjoying using this summer. Have you tried natural deodorant yet?
